Lord, protect employees of large organisations who
are required to make regular business trips nationally and overseas. Grant them
physical protection as they travel by road, air and sea. Preserve them in good
health of body, mind and spirit. Endow them with wisdom and discernment as they
experience exposure to peoples of different language, culture, race and creed.
Guard them from the temptations of greed in food and drink; lust in
opportunities of the flesh and squander of monetary funds entrusted to them for
necessary and appropriate use.
Also, Lord, be a sure guardian of the
family members of those who travel. Give reassurance that their loved one will
be kept healthy and returned safely home from each trip. Protect them in their
loneliness at the times of day when families expect to spend time together and
also guard them from any temptations which their vulnerable circumstances may
invite. Give confidence to tackle alone the daily tasks which are normally
shared. Grant them strength to accept a broader span of family and household
duties and courage to learn any additional skills needed. Grant them
perseverance to endure the circumstances of separation whilst giving support and
encouragement for their spouse's career. But also, Lord, bless them with
discernment to express to their partner, when appropriate, their concerns and
sharing of opinions on current circumstances, together with their hopes and
aspirations for the future so that mutual understanding ran ensure major family
decisions are made and agreed jointly.
