Christ the refugee,
We remember that you were
a traveller too...
We thank you for the work of people
Who help us
travel,
By bus, boat, train or plane.
We pray for package holiday
couriers as they field people's complaints.
We pray for immigration officers
whose job is
To put our policies into action
Face to face,
Hearing
the stories of hardship and necessity,
Unable to switch off like we can.
We
pray for these front line people
Whose daily diet is complaints and
contempt,
And we ask you give them the integrity
To carry on being
themselves,
Strong and sure.
IMSY
Christ,
I need you on my bus.
So much responsibility:
the right change,
keeping to the timetable,
safety of passengers
and other road users.
If you were on the back seat
it would give me confidence.
I'd face the Saturday night crowds,
the traffic jams and the inspector
with a calmer mind.
Give me pleasant passengers
and safe journeys
when I'm on the buses.
