We pray for all who work in their own homes,
housewives
and husbands,
parents, children, single people,
bent over the washing
up,
heaving the laundry,
cleaning and washing.
Let no one take such
vital work
for granted,
for there is a time to be
Martha.

Heavenly Father, as a housewife, responsible for the comfort and cleanliness of a happy home, help me not to get too wrapped up in myself, making sure everything is done in order: and being proud of it! Help me to see that everything is done - in order to create a comfortable home for my husband and a warm welcome for the family and grandchildren, and not for my own selfish pride. Make me realise that to be fulfilled as a Christian, love and service towards my family is one way of spreading the gospel of the love of Jesus to all.
